Purpose
Our End User Computing Technical Consultant is responsible for working directly with customers to help plan, design and deliver optimal technical solutions through recommending and implementing a mix of traditional/virtual client optimization technologies, such as SOE, Imaging, Systems Management and Virtualization Desktop Infrastructure platforms. The individual will serve as a technical consultant with our customers during the assessment, design and implementation phases. A primary responsibility of the job will be to propose & implement technologies that transition enterprise environments into Dell lines of business. The consultant will utilize their highly developed business acumen to present the business value of their technical recommendations in an ROI based manner, using our consistent methodology and formalised documentation. The consultant will work directly with executive and senior level decision makers as well as IT operations staff throughout the delivery phase in this highly visible role.

Profile and Experience
General
In addition to detailed design level skills, the position requires highly developed communication and influencing skills at IT Director/CIO level (Oral and Written). The consultant is responsible consulting level document delivery as well as hands on execution of design and implementation. The consulting must have highly developed experience in the creation of technical business cases, process diagrams, and technical solutions for Dell customers. The consulting engagements follow a highly structured process including interviewing clients, analysing data and then constructing findings and recommendations. Responsibilities include developing and presenting comprehensive analysis and documentation of the customer’s “As Is” state of operations and recommendations for optimal “To Be” state. This requires proficiency in creating and operating ROI & TCO models. Consultants will also design and implement the technical recommendations. They must be detail oriented, with strong verbal, written, analytical, and communication capabilities.

Experience
General
● Min. 3 Years Consulting Experience
● 5 Years Project Delivery Experience
● 10 Years Technical Operations Experience

Consulting
● Proven track record of consulting delivery (technical business case, detailed architecture design)
● Proven Track record of best practise migration planning and execution
● Demonstrable executive communication skills
● Demonstrable business and financial acumen
● ITIL Foundation

Technical
● Highly developed planning, design and implementation skills
● Detailed knowledge of operational readiness processes
● Detailed knowledge of data lifecycle management process
● Detailed knowledge of Best Practise Design and Migration; SOE/MOE, Imaging, Application Packaging and Optimised Deployment
● Virtualization Technologies (Altiris, Citrix, MSFT, Novell, VMWare, Citrix).
● Systems Management Technologies Design and Implementation (Altiris, SCCM etc). Current relevant MSFT certifications
● Peripheral tools and third party technologies (MDT etc)
● Highly experienced MSFT Directory Design (e.g. Group Policy etc)
