Works as an experienced Engineer in in product, system or technology program in SW/HW/System Design or Integration &  Verification..  Works under general direction and interprets internal/external business issues and recommended best practice in own discipline.


He/She has the responsibility for specifying, planning, reporting, designing, reviewing in his/her technical area (e.g. several features). Is an expert for techno-economical aspects in own responsibility area.  Leads and executes technical activities and projects in own responsibility area. Supports resource and program planning. Writes requirements, specifications and other guiding documentation for R&D from a technical point of view. May work also outside of own process area on technical issues.  Solves complex engineering problems in many technology areas.  Coaches other team members in solving complex engineering problems. Undertakes technical training responsibilities.


System Engineer for RF BB architecture works within the definition phase of the Radio Frequency (RF) baseband (BB) system being a core part of radio transceiver subsystem used in radio base stations of modern mobile communications systems (GSM, UMTS, LTE).
As System Engineer for RF BB you will be responsible for the following tasks:
- defining the RF BB digital signal processing architecture and algorithms
- simulating the RF BB architecture and algorithm behavior
Your work will be focused on downlink (DL) and uplink (UL) digital signal processing of RF BB system and related interfaces, including (but not limited to) modulation, filtering, gain control, formatting, timing, smart clipping.
As System Engineer for RF BB you will be a part of local team, however the daily work will be performed in the international team of System Engineers with close cooperation with Hardware and Software Engineers and Architects.


Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree or equivalent education in Computer Science, Telecommunications or other corresponding area
- solid background in the theory of digital signal processing
- fluency in English, both written and spoken
Following skills are desirable and will be a clear advantage of a candidate:
- Matlab experience
- good knowledge of RF engineering
- knowledge of Software and System modeling techniques (e.g. UML, MSC, etc)
- general experience / knowledge in mobile radio and LTE

Responsibilities
a) Key Objective / Purpose of the Job:
Reporting to the Director of Business & Operations Support Systems, in this Technical Architecture position the incumbent will help realize Tata Communications future Business Support Systems and Strategy. He/She will influence the automation of business processes across the TCL OSS/BSS. The successful candidate will have a general understanding of TeleManagement Forum eTOM processes and NGOSS framework and will use those as well as other telecom and IT industry standards to help define the end to end business process for TCL.


b) Major Activities
•Design and deliver end-to-end processes for next generation service provider business transformation. 
•Ensure that a disciplined approach is followed for future architecture requirements
•Achieve trusted partner status and maintain credibility with customers from operations, business, product development and engineering teams by establishing strong relationships and helping to bridge the gaps between those customers and the IT Architecture and Development groups. 
•Be the voice of the customer within IT ensuring needs are promptly and effectively met
Develop Telecom and Enterprise processes using ITIL, NGOSS and other relevant industry frameworks 

Requirements
•TMF certification required. Other relevant industry certifications (ITIL, TOGAF, etc…) desired.
•Good knowledge of the existing OSS, BSS, and IT applications (commercial and open source) and vendor landscape. 
•Working experience with multiple OSS/BSS functional areas such as Opportunity and Order Management, Customer Care, Customer Relationship Management, Workflow Management, Data Mining & Warehousing, Self Care Portals, Product Lifecycle Management, Service Delivery, Service Assurance, Inventory & Asset Management, and Billing & Financials.

Consulting experience with global telecom providers preferred
•The ability to understand and assimilate complex network technologies and concepts (SDH/SONET, Ethernet, VOIP, IP VPN, E-LAN, WiMax, etc) as demonstrated by previous work experience is required.
•Solid understanding of up-to-date architecture concepts and system integration principles (TOGAF, SOA, J2EE, OSS/J, …)
•Proven track record with enterprise architecture and process modeling tools in support of business transformation and next gen migration.
•Familiarity with Software development Life Cycle and project management principles
•An earned Bachelor Degree in a related engineering or information technology discipline is required, Master’s Degree or MBA preferred.
•Develop and publish Architecture Guidelines and Process Frameworks to support among other functional areas,
oService Assurance including Fault, Performance and Trouble Ticketing Management
