Job Description:
Cisco seeks a Technical Solution Architect for Virtualization. In this presales technical role you must understand business requirements for customer base and be able to translate them into technical requirements. Understand and Articulate Cisco's Architectures and Services. Facilitate better communications and understanding of customer requirements between customers, corporate and the field. Create, present and document technical solutions. Perform in-depth and high-level technical presentations for customers, partners and prospects. Gain access to the broad palette of Cisco Data Center technologies and applications in a variety of vertical markets. Drive identified major account opportunities (i.e. technical consulting, upper level management presentations, Cisco technology solutions, product requirements, and design validation) while allowing local account team to maintain long-term ownership. Showcase Cisco product solutions-setting up demonstrations, running customer proof of concept labs, and explaining features and benefits to customers.
In additional to technological aptitude, and the ability to learn quickly and stay current, the ideal candidate's interpersonal, presentation and troubleshooting skills evoke passion and confidence. Keep up-to-date on relevant competitive solutions, products and services with respect to Data Center Technologies. Provide consultative support to other Virtual Team Specialists and Systems Engineers. Mentor other less experienced Systems Engineers in the assigned opportunities.
Viewed as a leader by senior management, peers, partners, company and customers. Publish white papers on given topics for internal or external use. Continually gather product requirements and submit findings to BUs and LOBs to drive Area or Operation business requirements.. Major account focus will require increased travel responsibilities. Actively participate as a specialist on assigned Virtual Team(s) and/or Solutions Team(s). Must have area of specialization, and potentially multi-areas. 10+ years related experience. Cisco experience required. Cisco product and end-to-end positioning required. Relevant Data Center industry experience highly recommended.
Competitive product experience required. Pre-Sales experience required. Typically requires BS/BA (EE/CS) or equivalent. CCIE certification highly desirable and/or preferred. In-depth knowledge of baseline SE skills. In-depth knowledge and strong operating experience in more than one of the following solution areas: Nexus, Unified Compute, Fiber Channel Switching, Storage Area Networking
• Additional knowledge, a plus, in Server Load Balancing, and WAN Optimization.
