General Purpose: 
Provides technical expertise/leadership in the development and implementation of molding, coating, surface treatment and decoration technologies.
 
Main Responsibility Area: 
Contributes to technology and product target setting  including competitiveness.
Solves critical technical questions/ problems across a broad environment. Guides and instructs others and shares own expertise to progress the project. Supports in the creation of technology strategies. Participates in, and contributes to, reviews and audits of programs, and suppliers. Contributes to decisions on technology options. Contributes to competence development, knowledge sharing and coaching and mentoring within his/her technology area.

Carries out specialized activities/ projects according to general direction and program/ site needs. Works autonomously taking full responsibilities for actions. Continuous increase of awareness and involvement outside of own area. Supporting/ managing technology and feasibility studies, including managing suppliers R&D resources.
 
Scope: Individual Contributor. Variety of complex tasks within area of responsibility, Demonstrates initiative & contributes to problem solving. Acts with independence and discretion in routine matters. Makes decisions that affect own work.
 
Impact
Impact is both short- & long-term (and usually departmental/project in scope).
Accountable for quality,  accuracy and efficiency of own and/or achievements. And creates frameworks and structures that support others in systems, planning, development of methods and ways of working that ensures continuously improving quality, accuracy and efficiency.
Contribution in Supplier portfolio to meet technology needs.

Acts as a Program Advocate between Nokia Program to Supplier, Supplier to Supplier, and Supplier to Factory

Qualifications

 
Individual Portfolio:
Typically 4-6 years relevant experience, fully competent. Uses functionally specific knowledge.
 
Degree:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering or relevant / equivalent discipline.
 
Environment:
Performs day-to-day activates to meet departmental/project objectives. Requires little supervision. Applies commonly recognized concepts within their field of expertise. Shares knowledge with less experienced peers or have high collegial interaction. Raises innovative ideas.
 
Key competencies & experiences: 
Managing Projects , Deciding & Initiating Action , Relating & Networking , Creating & Innovating , Customer Focus , Engineering , Managing Technology.
Basic knowledge of chemical and physical structures of materials, coatings, and decorations.   Understanding of suitable decoration for different materials.
Strong color formulation and development skills. Ability to recognize minute color deltas.
Ability to quickly point out quality problems from assemblies and products without measurement tools and then decide actions to find out and fix root cause.
Strong troubleshooting skills related to multiple manufacturing disciplines. Molding parameters, painting parameters, etc.
Experience of new material or new processing technology quality challenges.
Experience with functional coatings and surface treatments.
