Job description
Delivery of key Midrange Projects for the Federal Government Customers we service.

Duties & Responsibilities
Plan upgrades and other changes to the UNIX environment
Actively and pre-emtively determine possible failure faults and causes
Provide Team Leaders/managers with input re projects/direction when required
Manage and resolve problems identified by users or monitoring software
Work with change and problem management tools
Provide technical assistance to the other members of the System Administration team and Share knowledge/experiences
Hardware fault detection and correction - vendor liasing
Liase with customer accounts as required
24x7 on-call support

Desired Experience
TSM/ADSM operational and troubleshooting knowledge
Knowledge of IBM RS/6000 hardware platforms
AIX System Admin Certification
Some DB2/Oracle DBA exposure
GPFS exposure
Vertias (f/s and cluster) experience
Knowledge of IBM SSA disk subsystem

Technical Skills
AIX System Administration (AIX 4.3.x, 5.x and 6.x)
Disk Management functions (logical volumes, mirroring disks)
TCIP/IP experience and knowledge
Virtualization Technologies – PowerVM, VIOS, HMC, LPM, LPAR
SAN Storage and its Subsystem Knowledge
HACMP & HACMP/ES skills
SDDPCM, Power Path, MPIO

Non-Technical Skills
Communication
Problem solving
Lateral Thinking & Analytical skills
Documentation skills

Required
Bachelor's Degree
English: Fluent
