Nokia Maps, for example, would be at the heart of key Microsoft assets such as Bing and AdCenter, and Nokia’s application and content store would be integrated into Microsoft Marketplace. Under the proposed partnership, Microsoft would provide developer tools, making it easier for application developers to leverage Nokia’s global scale.

Description

We are looking for a .NET Developer who will be working on Windows Phone 7 development projects to help us create the next generation of entertainment applications for the new Nokia Windows phones.   The successful candidate will love software engineering and be looking to take the next step in their career and help create world class Windows Phone 7 apps.

Your main focus will be on client development for Nokia Windows Phone, but depending on product priorities, server side development could also be required in this role. You will work closely together with other team members, architect and design and product teams.

Applicants should have solid C# and Windows Phone development experience with a good understanding of performance, threading, storage, localization and update models.  Knowledge of the Model-View-ViewModel pattern, Silverlight and/or WPF would also be beneficial.


Qualifications

·         The ability to write clear, concise, well-documented code that adheres to commercial standards
·         A good appreciation of coding standards, design best practices and a keen desire to apply them
·         Thorough understanding of mobile device architectures
·         Analytical thinking, good decision making skills
·         Comfortable taking responsibility and solving complex problems
·         The ability to analyse and debug existing code, to address defects in both functionality and performance.
·         A good understanding of testing throughout the product lifecycle, both at code-level (unit testing) and application-level (manual/system testing)
