General Purpose:

The Baseband Test Engineer will be responsible for testing ASICs, IOs, modules, and discrete components that constitute the Base Band portion of the design.

Main Responsibility Areas:

  • Perform Baseband testing following test specifications.
  • Troubleshoot defects from factory or field to find root cause.
  • Troubleshoot defects after reliability testing to find root cause.
  • Design, evaluate and test new test jigs and flash adaptors.
  • Provide troubleshooting training for factory technicians as needed. 
  • Repair, and re-furbish R&D protos.
  • Create mock-up based on existing programs for SW & HW teams for factory build preparation.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment inventory & calibrations.
  • Travel to factory for build supports as required (both international and domestic travel may be required).

Qualifications

  •  Technical school or corresponding education/knowledge and 5+ year experience in electronics testing and debugging of portable devices.
  • Demonstrated expertise with advanced test equipment (i.e. oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, logic analyzer, signal generators, communications test equipment such as CDMA/WCDMA/LTE call boxes).
  • Capable of navigating the cellular handset's schematics and layouts using the CAD tools.
  • Ability to quickly and effectively communicate findings to all appropriate parties.
