The Services unit is one of the primary growth engines for Nokia's business. Our unit delivers new, innovative internet services that delight consumers and enterprises, increase the value of Nokia's devices and fundamentally change the perception of Nokia in the market. We are creating a combined device and internet experience that people love.
We are looking for experienced Web Services front end engineers for our exciting new internet services. Strong track record of developing and delivering world-class consumer facing, high traffic internet applications is a must. Experience with cross-browsers development, CSS, Ajax, JavaScript, PHP, SOAP and REST API is required.
You will be a key member of the team that builds innovative mobile applications using state of the art web technologies for smartphones and Web clients. You will be closely involved in product specification, architecture, system design, and implementation. You will collaborate with architect and other team members to create engineering documentation, work with QA engineers to diagnose integration and end user issues.
The team is based in Sunnyvale, California with a great startup spirit. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with 8+ years of experience
3 years experience building large scale, highly available, distributed consumer facing web services.
Excellent knowledge of UNIX.
Expert knowledge of OO design principals.
Highly skilled in PHP, HTML, CSS, JS, AJAX .
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Demonstrable analytical and problem solving skills.
Proven ability to think outside the box.
Results and quality driven, and capable of multi-tasking
Experience in LAMP stack, and related Web technologies such as Web Service architectures using SOAP/REST/equivalent.
Experience with JQuery and JavaScript Framework.
Familiarity with JUnit , PHPUnit or another PHP-based testing framework
Experience in identifying and solving cross-browser (IE 7/8/9, Firefox, Opera on MAC OSX, Windows x64/x86 & Linux) compatibility issues
Self-starter and team player.
Rapid learner who thrives in a fast pace environment.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
The strongest candidates will also have:
Master degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
Experience to lead complex technical projects
Experience with Server Side web development in PHP 4.x or 5.x
Relational database experience preferably mySQL.
Experience in Agile/Scrum software development methodology
