Our Application Services Testing and Performance practice is a global leader in providing clients with multiple application development and integration related services and support capacities. As a Test Architect, you are a key contributor to the implementation of business and technical solutions for clients with overall responsibility for the quality assurance and testing of varied and complex applications and infrastructure components.
As a Test Architect for Non-Functional Testing, you specialize in the analysis of system interactions and their affects on the overall performance relative to the specified requirements and make recommendations for improvements. This role is responsible for examining and evaluating the performance, availability, scalability and other non-functional requirements for the applications and drive the optimization and tuning of the applications, middleware, and infrastructure architecture.
Responsibilities include:
• Identifying performance and other non-functional requirements and review their suitability
• Acquire, or specify requirements for acquiring, appropriate information on the performance characteristics of hardware, software, network and infrastructure of the end-to-end IT solution
• Examining and evaluating performance, availability / scalability of the applications and drive the optimization / tuning of the functional interfaces to the application infrastructure.
• Designing test strategy and setting the direction for testing to validate environment readiness and help transition solutions into production.
• Recommending test tools and influencing the selection of test methods that adequately stress the system.
• Providing technical leadership and assist with test planning.
• Providing leadership for test design and guidance during test specification development.
• Working with the project manager to identify and plan non-functional testing related activities and deliver within a project on time and budget while meeting all quality objectives
• Identifying infrastructure related issues during functional and non functional test phases
• Reporting on the status of activities within projects, and resolving any infrastructure issues
• Mentoring and coaching other team members
• Interacting with internal and client cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of the test cases during development and successful transition to production
• Identify risk areas, understand performance requirements, estimate response and throughput characteristics, and anticipate growth capability for a project
• Manage the performance risk of a project
• Control or coordinate activities in the project that have an impact on performance
• Apply specialized performance estimation and design skills to the architecture of the system under development
• Perform technical assessment of the feasibility of the performance requirements in light of the outline system architecture
• Support Proposal/RFP
Qualifications:
• Good understanding of Performance Engineering concepts and analysis
• Experience with analyzing test results and resolving performance-related issues
• Ability to Perform Vendor / Product / Design / Implementation Tools Selection
• Demonstrated leadership abilities including managing teams and project assignments, designing and executing processes and plans, resolving issues and building consensus across groups.
• Excellent people management skills
• Excellent organizational skills to track, monitor, and report testing progress
• Detail oriented multi-tasker with ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands to targeted deadlines
Required
Bachelor's Degree
At least 8 years experience in Planning, design, management, execution, and reporting of non-functional tests using appropriate testing tools and techniques
At least 8 years experience in Proficiency with performance test tools, such as Rational Performance Tester, LoadRunner, and others
At least 8 years experience in Working knowledge of various infrastructure components including networking, messaging, data, Unix shell scripts and web-applications.
English: Fluent
