Siemens are the baggage systems integrator on a new and exciting project at London Heathrow and we are now seeking a number of PLC and Scada Controls Engineers to work on the development of baggage handling system designs.

This will entail the design, analysis and acceptance testing of fully automated baggage handling systems, related to system controls and automation. The senior controls engineer is responsible for the interface for coordination between the baggage system and other relevant disciplines.

The job is site based at London Heathrow and includes occasional field trips to observe or resolve specific problems in all phases of a BHS project from onsite surveys to the commissioning and final handover of the system.

The main responsibilities are to maintain good relationships with all internal and external partners, through provision of a high quality service, maintaining Siemens image as a top quality, professional company, by adopting an honest, professional and attentive approach

You’ll interpret design input information to produce control system designs and produce design and manufacturing programmes, with associated procurement responsibilities.
 
We are looking for a BS or HND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent and significant experience of controls engineering will be evidenced in your application.  Experience in materials handling / factory manufacturing or logistics environment is required and if you have baggage handling projects and / or the airports industry experience it would be a significant advantage

Software development skills to include:

Microsoft Office 2003, Siemens Simatic Step 7 Manager, LAD, STL, FBD, Simatic Profibus-DP, Simatic Asi-Bus, Simatic NetPro, Simatic HMI
