Sony Network Entertainment (SNEI) is a division of the Networked Products and Services Group. Sony Network Entertainment was created to drive vision, strategy and execution for network services across the entire Sony Group, with a goal of offering consumers compelling, connected entertainment experiences across a variety of consumer electronics devices.

We're looking for a self-starter MicroStrategy developer with a strong knowledge of system administration for our large data warehouse solution.    The Developer must have experience in delivering extensible reporting solutions through business analysis, optimal data modeling and clear presentation ability.   This position will be working alongside multiple cross-functional BI teams, and will be servicing the global (24/7) BI needs of Sony Network Entertainment.  Speed, accuracy and responsive are critical qualities for the position. Experience with Cognos 8/10 BI development cycle will be a significant plus.

Job description:
Develop and deliver extensible/sustainable reporting solutions based on defined business needs
Author complex dashboards and reports using MicroStrategy latest technology on Linux
Constantly monitoring health of multiple BI application systems
Conduct regular maintenance routines and coordinate upgrade activities as needed
Demonstrate understanding of data modeling and ETL/DW processes
Proactively identify and act on opportunities to improve analytic systems and processes
Document system and procedure changes
Ability to perform Cognos administration function with a little or no supervision

Qualifications

• BA/BS Degree or equivalent years of related experience required
• 3+ years of experience working with MicroStrategy BI tools. This will include modeling data, creating simple and complex (drill up/down/through) reports, scheduling jobs, and creating OLAP cubes, as well as performing administrative tasks including user/group management, patch management, installation, configuration, and troubleshooting in a Linux environment
• Extensive and strong knowledge of Oracle SQL and relational databases, including writing basic and complex SQL to create and validate reports, as well as SQL tuning experience to improve query performance
• Solid understanding of the Business Intelligence development lifecycle, including data modeling, dimensional/relational modeling, requirements analysis, etc.

QlikView experience a plus
