Qualifications
SKILLS/ QUALIFICATIONS:
Proven experience of audio/video or digital electronic repairs to component level.
Ability to use analytical skills to diagnose component and system failures.
Computer literate together with good typing skills having experience of Microsoft Office and computer based data processing systems.
Working knowledge of LINUX, DOS and UNIX systems is desirable.
Good communication skills.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Formal electronic qualification, e.g. HNC in Electronic Engineering, City & Guilds Part 1&2 qualification, BTEC/NVQ in electronics or equivalent.
An understanding of EASA 145/FAA 145 regulations would be desirable.
Ability to rework soldering of surface mount component.
Ability to read and write English to comply with ATA regulations.

Description
REPAIR TECHNICIAN I
JOB PURPOSE
To repair aircraft 'In-Flight Entertainment' (IFE) equipment in accordance with current repair shop procedures, EASA 145/FAA 145 regulations and relevant technical documentation, ensuring that workshop targets are met.
SUMMARY: Under direct supervision, performs a variety of routine tasks to ensure repair shop quality standards are met. 'Repair' means all actions necessary to render the unit serviceable, including cleaning, testing, performance evaluation of electronic and mechanical components, sub assemblies and LRUs. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained. Normally receives detailed instructions on all work Responsible for own and others health and safety to ensure a safe working environment in line with the Company's Health and Safety Policy. Will carry out any other reasonable duties as defined by supervisor/manager.
KEY ACTIVITY AREAS:
Performs the set-up, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies.
Performs hand set-ups for digital tests.
Recognizes failures and set-up problems, and determines need for appropriate verification.
Record required information on all repairs and publication discrepancies.
Operates programmable auto-testers, samplers, real-time oscilloscopes, pulse generators, meters, power supplies, and special test fixtures.
Additionally, this role may be required to:
Travel within the U.K. or internationally.
