Senior Buyer/Purchasing Manager (Civils) - Building Projects - West Africa

 CA Global: Engineering and Construction (Building Projects) has a client looking for a Senior Buyer/Purchasing Manager (Civils) with experience working with Building Construction companies. This position will be based West Africa.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure that the material needs of the project is met

Responsible for finding suppliers and making sure materials arrive on time

Implement procurement strategy and policies.

Forecast procurement needs.

Continually develop expertise to support growth for new projects.

Monitor macro trends in supplier and contract base and implement plans to react.

Build and develop relationships with key suppliers and customers.

Review quotations.

Prepare purchase requisitions, approve and issues purchase orders in accordance with company policy and negotiated terms and conditions.

Maintain procurement files.

Requirements:

·         Professional Training and/or experience in Industrial, Logistics or any other SCM related

·         University education would be advantageous

·         International/local purchase management for major contracting companies on high value international projects

·         Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years experience

·         5 years must have been spent in the role

·         Able to work well in a multicultural environment

·         Good written and spoken skills in English

·         French and/or Spanish language proficiency is also desirable

·         Proficiency in the use of MS Office and Primavera and Project Management software

·         Membership of an internationally recognized engineering body will be advantageous
