SUMMARY

Collects, analyzes and presents information about business news stories.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

Reporting

• Produces and reports hourly live shots from the New York Stock Exchange for TWC news channels. Produce and anchor Fortune Business Report as needed.

• Receives assignment or evaluates financial news leads and tips to develop story idea.

• Gathers and verifies factual information regarding story through interview, observation, and research.

• Organizes material, determines emphasis, and writes story according to prescribed editorial style and format standards.

• Writes stories

• Create full frame graphics for business reports using newsroom automation system.

• Develops sources and contacts for story development.

• Must be prepared to do live onset reports on breaking financial news



Camera and Field Operations

•Shoots video to illustrate stories.

•Edits, or assists in editing, videos for broadcast.

Presentation Skills

• Appears on television program when conducting taped or filmed interviews or narration.

• Gives live reports from site of event or mobile broadcast unit.

• Occasionally represents station at other events.

Availability

•Accessible via blackberry 24/7



Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND OR EXPERIENCE


Education: Bachelors Degree, preferably in Journalism/Communication /English/Business or relevant job experience.

Experience: Prior on-air experience required. 2-3 years experience in broadcast journalism required. Experience in business news preferred.
