Job Description
Supervise all general financial accounting activities for Maldives which include accounting and control of the stock materials, capital purchases, expenses incurred, monitors the actual v/s the budget, revenue collections, accounts receivables, general ledger relating to the outstations. Ensures accounting records of Maldives are up to date which will in turn generation of meaningful and timely Management reports.

Requirements
Must have the right to live and work in Colombo


Qualifications and Education:
University degree in accounting. Membership in an professional accounting body like ACA of India, ACA, ACCA of UK or CPA of USA, MBA in Finance or equivalent would be preferred.

Experience:
4 to 6 years accounting experience of which a minimum of 3 years preferably in airline or related industry.

Knowledge:
Thorough accounting knowledge
Must be fully computer literate.
Very good knowledge of spoken and written English.

Responsibilities
Exercises close supervision over the work of the outstations accounting work which include monitoring the posting, balancing and reconciliation of ledger accounts relative to outstations.
Supervises stock materials held in custody of outstations including reconciliation with corporate inventory accounts.

Critical study/review of agreements relating to outstations like the rental agreements, ground handling agreements, technical handling agreements, catering agreements, crew hotel/transportation agreements, passenger hotel agreements etc.

Supervises accounting entries relating to outstations including applicable General Ledger control accounts, Accounts Payable, Revenue, Cash, and Accounts Receivable.

Supervises fixed assets accounting relating to outstations including, acquisition, write off, and disposal ensuring compliance with delegated authority.

Ensure integrity and accuracy of all financial data captured in the accounting records. Analyses the data in order to ensure consistency and completeness on a monthly basis.

Ensure proper financial control system is in place, complies with the corporate governance structure and Manual of Authority issued by the Company and meets the requirements of both independent external and government auditors.

Ensuring registration of Invoices from IATA Carriers for the Miscellaneous invoices, getting the invoice checked/certified by the respective departments, allocation, JV preparation and posting.

Accounts receivable relating to outstations, follow up for recoveries.

Credit Control, preparation of a report on the outstanding debts, ageing, reasons for non recovery, action taken and likely date of recovery.

Supervises local payroll payments made directly by outstations ensuring compliance with personnel policy and delegated authorities.

Supervises expenditure payments processed directly by outstations for materials, services and general charges ensuring compliance with delegated authority.

Processes expenditure payments in Head Office accounts for transactions beyond authority delegated to outstations for materials, services, and general charges ensuring compliance with delegated authorities.
