WebSphere Administrator – Dell Inc
**Location Plano, TX - no travel required**
Job Responsibilities
Install, configure, administer WebSphere Application Servers (ND)
Install, configure, administer WebSphere ESB/Web Services (ND)
Install, configure, administer WebSphere IHS Web Servers (ND)
Deploy J2EE business applications
Scripting ability (bash, ksh, perl, etc)
Familiarity with Messaging, Load balancer, Clustering
Maintain WebSphere environment resources, assuring continuous WebSphere applications’ availability and high performance
Quickly resolve highly complex technical issues, identifying quick fixes followed by well-defined permanent solutions
Participate in rotating 24x7 on-call assignments
Create and maintain UNIX scripts that automate recurring administrative activities
Strong UNIX skills
Contribute to team planning and reporting of accomplishments
Identify and recommend opportunities for administrative improvements
Maintain portions of environment and team documentation
Qualifications
Required Skills
3+ years of WebSphere Version 6+ Administrative support in complex, high activity, UNIX based business environment
Thorough understanding of WebSphere Network Deployment architecture & administration
Experience with service delivery policies & procedures
Full J2EE life-cycle processes experience
Knowledge & adherence to best practices service guidelines are essential
Self-starter, capable of planning & executing assigned responsibilities both independently & under direction of senior WebSphere associates
Strong time management skills & ability to complete activities within time constraints
Required to work outside normal business hours providing 24x7 WebSphere support for highly valued clients
Strong team orientation & consistently contribute to realization of team goals & customer satisfaction
Desired Skills
PERL
Databases – Oracle / DB2
Basic network troubleshooting skills
Familiarity in FTP, SFTP, SSH, Telnet, trace, Firewall & general Network components at the level to troubleshoot any problem, DNS
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in related field
