Job Description:
Assistant Resident Engineer - Malawi (10 Month Contract)
A vacancy exists in the Water Sector for an Assistant Resident Engineer to commence duties on a project in Malawi from 1 July 2011. This appointment will be for the duration 10 months.
Main Responsibilities.
Thorough and quality compliant inspections
Contract supervision, administration and project reporting
Implementation of quality procedures
Carrying out instructions as required
Time and budget management
Timeous submission of reports and records
Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Diploma in Civil Engineering, professional registration preferred
Minimum of 8 years experience in water-related infrastructure and bulk conveyance
Experience in water and wastewater treatment facilities will be an advantage
Knowledge of drawings
Site experience with M & E aspects and interfacing preferred
Experience with FIDIC conditions of contract
Experience in developing countries
Behavioural Competencies
Strong leadership skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Independent worker
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
Team player
Sound commercial understanding
