MTN Nigeria: Latest Job Vacancy for Business Senior Manager, Procurement

MTN Nigeria secured one of four licenses to operate digital GSM (Global System for Mobile Telecommunications) telephony on February 9, 2001, from the Nigerian Communications Commission. Following this, on May 16 2001, MTN emerged the first telecommunications company to make a commercial call on its GSM network. Thereafter, the company launched full commercial operations beginning with Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt, in August 2001. We seek qualified candidate for the below position.

Job Title: Senior Manager, Procurement
Department: Finance
Location: Lagos



Job Description: 
•Procure goods and services  that support the operations of MTNN
•Develop a portfolio of suppliers in line with the requirements of the company.
•Set up guidelines and procedures to initiate tenders and contracts.
•Prepare tender documents, contracts/agreements and follow up with supplier performance management.
•Authorize tender proposals and specifications.
•Present tender evaluations for Management Committee consideration and approval.
•Interpret contract provisions and review contracts for accuracy and changes prior to execution or renewal
•Prepare final agreed contract documents.
•Continually benchmark the cost and quality of current suppliers with industry levels.
•Reduce cost of operations through effective and efficient sourcing without compromising quality.
•Develop initiatives aligning the company’s procurement activities with Public sector local content development policies.
Job Conditions: Standard working conditions. Extra hours may be needed.

Reporting To: General Manager Procurement & Support Services

Required Skills:
•Minimum of 12 years working experience comprising:
•Minimum of five years experience in managing the procurement function of a reputable organization.
•Experience in contract administration and contract writing.

Employment Status : Permanent

Qualification:
A first degree in a related discipline. Professional qualification or certification in Purchasing and Supply management.
