Description

Are you a self-starter with a passion for food quality who enjoys working in a fast paced dynamic environment? Then this role is ideal for you!

The East York Bakery has a 12- month contract available for a Quality Assurance Associate. This position reports to the Quality Assurance Supervisor and works with the broader quality department to ensure that the ingredients in the food we produce meets Kraft's high quality standards.  In this position you will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with many challenging assignments.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:  


  • Responsible for Raw Material and Packaging Material Quality and ensuring programs are in place for sampling, testing, acceptance and rejection of all incoming raw materials and packaging materials
  • Manage raw material and packaging material rejections including notification, disposition, and corrective action tracking
  • Manage Allergen Changeover CCP Program to ensure resources are in place for changeovers and improvement opportunities are identified and implemented
  • Responsible for verification and calibration of all test equipment in the plant including qualification of new equipment and calibration and maintenance of existing equipment according to outlined program frequencies.
  • Manage product formulations including transfer of Kraft Master Formulas to plant floor batch sheets
  • Manage Kosher program to apply for new raw materials, update certificates, develop training material and monitor program compliance
  • Responsible for execution of microbiological monitoring programs including Water Quality, Pathogen Environmental Monitoring, Clean Equipment Swabs, and Chlorine monitoring

Qualifications

IDEAL CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Food Science Degree
  • Strong analytical aptitude and experience working in a manufacturing environment or in other food quality roles
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate activities and work independently
  • Experience and working knowledge of computer applications including MS Office
