Job Purpose

You will be responsible to direct, manage and control the processing of all Technical invoices for payment via a stable interface with the Etihad Financial department and in accordance with the corporate governance defined within the Etihad Manual of Authority.  Additionally, they are responsible for the production, control and accrual of the Technical budget (approx annual value of US$400 Million OPEX) and for the monthly reporting and annual reconciliation of all Technical Flight Hour maintenance contracts.

Responsibilities

 In addition, you will be responsible for:

  • All aspects of controlling Technical expenditure, reviewing invoices and back-up documents and clearing them for payment, maintaining financial commitment records for contracts, and highlighting to management any variances or additional claims with suggestions for corrective action.
  • Maintaining adequate control over the Technical Department budgets through continued monitoring of expenses to ensure that they stay within budget limits. Reviews the monthly variance reports, highlighting to VP’s those variations requiring particular attention. Clarifies with concerned personnel any abnormalities in posting the cost.
  • Preparing various cost performance and other management information reports with cost performance analysis to keep management advised of cost trends and implications. Includes highlighting actual expenses against approved budgets, computing performance indices and comparing them with internationally accepted standards, and providing recommendations for improvement.

Requirements

You should have minimum of 15 years aviation industry experience, including at least 5 years of technical management experience within the area of budget and cost control.

You are required to have the following:

  • University degree level in the field of aeronautical, mechanical, electrical/electronics engineering with a strong Financial background.
  • Knowledge of accounting and budget processes.
  • Networking and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
