Job Summary
People within Application Outsourcing are responsible for the day-to-day provision of long-term outsourcing services to one or several clients. As part of our Application Outsourcing team, you could be helping to provide the programming, management and maintenance services needed to implement and support installations of both custom and packaged application software
Responsibilities include:
- Monitors assigned system processes to ensure successful daily operation.
- Identifies production issues related to mainframe processing and ensures accurate tracking and reporting of these issues.
- Technical owner for at least one functional area or process.
- Escalates production and development issues as necessary to Senior Developer and/or Development Manager.
- Assists with identifying code modules (and other components of the application) impacted by production issues and recommends possible code remediation.
- Analyzes production data and executes data clean-ups (after client approval) as required.
- Performs development activities (Detailed Design, Code, and Component Test) with minimal direction from the Senior Developer and/or Development Manager.
- Develops technical expertise at the subsystem level (Back End, Front End, or Reporting) and the technology level (COBOL, JCL, CICS, VSAM, DB2, IMS, XML, MQ Series).
- Creates and own detailed design documentation. Integrates new requirements into existing detailed designs. Works with Senior Developer to reconcile conflicting requirements and resolve complex design issues to ensure technical designs are complete before coding phase.
- Performs code and component test activities to support change requests or production fixes. Follows approved coding standards and documents component test conditions before execution of component test.
